A LEGACY OF EXPLOSIVES EXPERTISE
PAST
Our founder, John Aitken, delivered 50 years of service as an explosives expert at the French-based company Schlumberger. During his tenure, John traveled the world helping develop the latest technologies for shaped charges, powder charges, detonators, and othe related products. When he met his wife, Cleide, his passion for creating a family business grew. The duo spent many years manufacturing products until John’s passing in 2003.
PRESENT
Since then, Cleide has continued to run the company with the same passion, dedication, and values, driven to continue her late husband’s legacy. Today, Mecano-Tech, Inc. is proud to be a woman-owned business leading the market in explosives manufacturing.
FUTURE
As we look ahead, we are commited to prioritizing the development of innovation and sustainable products within the oil and gas industry. We have also strategically diversified our portfolio to encompass projects in the defense industry and have the capabilities to expand into the aerospace and mining industries. As we continue to explore these industries we are constantly boosting our team of highly-skilled and experienced professionals, pushing the borders of explosive manufacturing.

As a smaller company, we are able to stay in full control of our costs, leading to more competitive pricing. While larger companies provide similar products, they often charge outrageous prices due to their size. We can also take on development projects and custom designs, whereas bigger companies may need more time or resources to do so.
Our mission is to make our customers feel at home when working with us, and our manufacturing facility reflects this sentiment. Situated on 110 acres in the Texas Hill Country, our site provides a refreshing change of pace from your typical testing and engineering locations.
